Corporate Challenge 2007

Our biggest M participated in our city's Corporate Challenge this year. This event was an exciting opportunity for children ages 6-17 to get work out in a fun (and hot) setting. We met at a local highschool and got the team t-shirts on (Daddy and our middle M each got a t-shirt even though we were only there for "support"). Our big girl warmed up with a thumbs-up and some leg stretches before the big event. Each participant received a form to fill out with their statistics from 5 different stations. First she did the sit and reach test, then tackled the sit up station (30 sit ups in 1 minute). At that point our camera battery ran out. The remaining, unphotographed events included push ups/neck wiggles, a shuttle run, and an endurance run which was one lap around the big track. The endurance lap included daddy and our son running behind our daughter to help spur her on to the finish line. Approximately half way around the track, our boy ran out of gas. I picked him up and struggled to catch up to our big girl while carrying the extra weight. When we caught her, I sat our middle M down and he proceeded to smoke us all to the finish line. The rest of the day he reminded her how he won the race. His facts were a bit clouded but it was pretty funny. Overall, our biggest M did an excellent job and even won a medal (along with all of the other kids that participated). Except for the blazing heat, a fussy baby boy who was missing his nap time, and some long lines, the day was a tremendous success. The logo on the front of our t-shirts summed up the day Vinco Vici Victum.....Vince Vas sVeaty - I'm not sure who Vince was but I'm confident that he was sveaty.
